The nearest edge is defined by a black line. the northern hemisphere band of latitude is white nearest the viewer shading to gray at its exterior surfaces left and right. Its inner surface can be seen through the gap between itself and the top polar cap. The inner surface is white shading through gray to black at the left and right. A sliver of black is seen below the lower edge of the far inner wall of the northern hemisphere band of latitude. The equatorial band of latitude has a light purple specular nearest the viewer and its exterior shades to dark purple at the left and right. The inner portions of the equatorial band of latitude visible between it and the northern hemisphere band of latitude are also dark purple shading to black at the left and right. An arcuate region of white can be seen below the lower edge of the far inner surface of the equatorial band of latitude and below that a sliver of black shaped like a nail paring. The southern hemisphere band of latitude is white to the center and right of the near surface shading through gray to black on the left where its upper edge defines a white line. The visible far inner surface is white in the middle shading through gray to black at the left and right. A small sliver of black separates the lower edge of the far inside from the upper edge of the near outside of the southern hemisphere band of latitude. A band of black represents the gap between the southern hemisphere band of latitude and the lower polar cap. The lower polar cap itself is white bounded by gray. The globe casts a gray shadow below itself. All other white on the drawing is background.
