The mark in question is an asymmetrical three dimensional device where a single rendition or single perspective view does not show all aspects of the mark. More specifically, the device is the image of Lt. George E. Dixon's "1860", Liberty Head, $20.00 gold coin, which has a personal inscription on the eagle side of the coin: "Shiloh April 6th 1862 My Life Preserver G.E.D.", and damage to the Liberty Head side due to being struck by a mini-ball during the Battle of Shiloh-hence the motivation for aforementioned inscription.
